Cultural Tours -
South Africa is a melting pot of cultures, its roots mingling with the Europeans since the arrival of the Portuguese, Italian and Dutch discoverers in the early 1400’s. 600 years later, our Constitution has created an environment where all 11 major indigeneous cultures are recognised, resulting in an astounding amount of music, literature, language, history, tradition, folk lore and mythology - we love our multi-cultural rainbow nation and all the enigmas and idiosyncracies that come with the diversity. Every town, and village in this magnificent country has something to share about its people. From the colours the Venda tribe to the tiny arrows the San use to send love messages. We bring to life the wars won and lost on the battle fields, as well as the birthplace of mankind. Come and discover the cultural mysteries and delights of South Africa.
Whale watching –
South Africa offers the best land-based whale watching in the world, stretching from the North Coast of Kwazulu Natal to the Cape Point. Some 37 species of whales and dolphins are found in South African waters, but the most common are the humpback whales and southern right whales. Humpback whales are often seen off the South African coast between July and November as they move to Mozambique to calve and breed. Southern right whales leave their Antarctic feeding ground to frolic in the warmer waters of the Southern Cape coast. Here they mate, calve and generally hang out, occasionally flopping a tail up, or sticking their heads out of the water, much to the delight of onlookers. They are a true marvel to behold.
And much more –
Choose from Canopy Tours, Kiteboarding, Paragliding, Diving, Quad biking, Horse riding – even Snow skiing – South Africa has it all, and you can find it and do it on Rooms4u.
